RIIWHS202E

Enter and Work in Confined Spaces

Want to gain skills and confidence working in confined spaces? The RIIWHS202E Enter and Work in Confined Spaces course provides participants with the skills and knowledge required to safely identify, enter, work in, and exit confined spaces in accordance with WHS legislation and workplace procedures.

This nationally recognised unit is designed to prepare you to work safely in confined spaces on demanding worksites throughout Australia. In this course, students learn how to identify and assess hazards, implement control measures, use atmospheric monitoring and personal protective equipment, and follow permit, isolation, and communication requirements for working in confined spaces and responding to emergency and rescue situations.

Course Delivery

Working in confined spaces safely and competently requires extensive knowledge and hands-on experience. We deliver flexible, blended learning opportunities, combining online theory with practical, hands-on training and assessment in a realistic and controlled training environment.

Participants complete the theory component online in the comfort of their own home and at their own pace prior to attending the practical session, allowing them to build a strong understanding of loading principles, hazard identification, and safety requirements before applying these skills in practice.

Once the theory is complete, students attend practical training and an assessment day at our Virginia training facility, focusing on real-world confined space scenarios using industry-standard equipment and simulated work environments. Here, participants receive hands-on training using industry-standard confined space equipment before completing a practical assessment to demonstrate safe and competent confined space entry, work, and exit procedures in a real-world environment.

Onsite training and assessment can also be arranged for employers who wish to have staff trained at their workplace, provided suitable equipment and facilities are available.
