Course Delivery
We understand the challenges of balancing work and study, this is why we offer flexible, blended learning models that combine online theory with practical, hands-on training and assessment using industry-standard skid steer loaders.
The theory component of this course is completed online, allowing students to study at their own pace, around commitments, and in the comfort of their own home. Once the theory is complete (approximately 4 hours, plus additional time for reading resource materials), students attend a practical training and assessment day at our Virginia Training Centre. Here, they receive hands-on training using industry-standard skid steer loaders before completing a practical assessment to demonstrate safe and competent operation in a real-world environment.
Onsite training and assessment can also be arranged for employers who wish to have staff trained at their workplace, provided suitable equipment and facilities are available. Generally, there will be one to two students per machine to ensure personalised instruction and ample operating time.
Pre-Requisites for Undertaking RIIMPO318F
There are no formal training pre-requisites for this course; however, participants must:
- Be at least 18 years of age (recommended for site work).
- Have sound English literacy and numeracy to read load charts, complete logbooks, and follow safety documentation.
- Have basic knowledge of WHS procedures relevant to construction and plant operation.
