Advanced Scaffolding Course – Clustered Advanced Scaffolding and Swing Stage Operations
The Advanced Scaffolding Course is a nationally recognised training program tailored for experienced scaffolders aiming to perform advanced scaffolding tasks, including the safe operation of swing stage scaffolds.
This clustered course integrates advanced scaffolding skills with specialised training in suspended access equipment, essential for high-rise, commercial, and complex construction projects.
Ideal for scaffolders advancing to higher-level work, those involved in suspended scaffold operations, or individuals formalising skills for high-risk environments, this course equips participants with the expertise needed for challenging scaffolding roles.
Please note: Competency in this course does not automatically grant a license. Licenses are issued after assessment under relevant WHS regulations, and students must apply for the appropriate license upon completion.
Units of Competency
Participants complete two (2) units in total:
- CPCCLSF4001 Licence to erect, alter and dismantle scaffolding advanced level
- 10910NAT Course in the Safe Use of Swing Stage Scaffolds
These units are commonly required for work involving hung scaffolds, suspended scaffolds, cantilevered structures, and swing stage operations on multi-storey and high-risk sites.
Course Delivery
This course is delivered through a structured, face-to-face training program, complemented by online assessments completed during class under trainer supervision.
Students attend our Virginia Training Centre for six training days, scheduled as follows:

- Two days (Friday and Saturday): Training and assessment for 10910NAT Course in the Safe Use of Swing Stage Scaffolds.
Training takes place in a purpose-built, realistic environment using industry-standard advanced scaffolding systems and swing stage scaffolds.
The course includes:
- Online knowledge assessments completed in class with full trainer support.
- Practical assessments conducted throughout to ensure safe, competent performance in advanced scaffolding and swing stage operations.
- Completion of the National Assessment Instrument (NAI) for licensing, as required by the relevant regulator.
- Small group sizes ensure personalised instruction, ample hands-on experience, and the time needed to develop advanced-level skills.
