Course Delivery
We understand that balancing work commitments and further training can be challenging, so we offer a flexible, blended learning model, combining online or classroom theory with extensive hands-on practical training using industry-standard lifting equipment.
The course is typically delivered over five consecutive days, including theory, practical training, National Assessment Instrument theory and practical, and final assessment. Participants are encouraged to complete the online theory prior to the first day of training to maximise time for practical learning on site. The practical training and assessments are then typically delivered as a five-day structured program, depending on participant experience and prior knowledge.
Pre-Requisites for Undertaking CPCCLDG3001
To enrol in this course, you must first successfully complete CPCCWHS2001 Apply WHS requirements, policies and procedures in the construction industry.
Participants must also:
- Be at least 18 years of age (recommended).
- Have sound English literacy and numeracy skills to interpret load charts, calculate weights, and complete workplace documentation.
- Hold a current driver’s licence appropriate to the class of vehicle being used.
What You Need to Succeed
To complete the course successfully, participants must:
- Attend and participate in all theory and practical training sessions.
- Successfully complete the National Assessment Instrument (NAI), which includes both written and practical components.
- Provide photo identification and a valid Unique Student Identifier (USI).
- Wear appropriate PPE, including high-visibility clothing, gloves, a hard hat, safety boots, and eye protection.
- Be physically capable of performing dogging activities, including manual handling and directing crane movements.
